NCAA Division I reduces minimum contests for all fall sports except football

The NCAA Division I Council Coordination Committee has ruled to reduce the number of minimum contests fall sports other than football must play by 50 percent in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Per the NCAA’s official announcement, the committee’s waiver applies to cross country, soccer, men’s water polo and women’s volleyball.

The announcement states that the ruling is to reduce the need for teams to schedule additional games to make up for the loss of non-conference schedules.
