The Warren Wilson women’s and men’s basketball teams competed in the 2018 USCAA DII National Tournament in Uniontown, PA. No strangers to the national playoffs, both teams have competed multiple times in recent years, including a championship win in 2013.
Warren Wilson athletic teams welcome all interested student-athletes regardless of level or experience.
Consider, for example, our Cycling team. The year they won the national championship, the team featured two freshmen riders with contrasting backgrounds. Freshmen Paul Wright came to Warren Wilson from New Zealand as a world-class rider. On the other end of the spectrum was Sophia Allen, who had never ridden a mountain bike before she joined the team in August. She got herself to a place where she could race for a national team just two and a half months later.
If you’re ready to contribute, we’re ready to meet you.
At Warren Wilson, our mascot is the Owls. It’s why you hear the cheer “hootie hoo” across campus, why our annual scholarship event is called a “Parliament”, and why owl art is so widely displayed across campus.
Warren Wilson College provides our students a way to combine their faith and sport through our chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Focusing on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference, FCA allows people to grow in their faith using the examples that sports provide.
